Marco Paim is the director of the Las Plumas and Oroville Alliance Band at Las Plumas and Oroville High School. Mr. Paim has been teaching music for 8 years.

 

Mr. Paim spent his first year of teaching at Compton Jr. High, teaching two bands, two orchestras, and two choirs. He spent the next four years at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Madera, CA (2015-2019). While at Thomas Jefferson, his bands consistently earned Unanimous Superior ratings at CMEA festivals and Music in The Parks festivals. During his tenure, a percussion ensemble and a jazz band were established. The jazz ensemble received superior ratings at the Santa Cruz Jazz Festival, and the percussion ensemble won championships for the SVWAA concert percussion division (2018-2019).

 

Mr. Paim has led the concert bands and jazz ensembles at Kastner Intermediate School from 2019-2021. During his time at Kastner, the bands have consistently earned Superior ratings at CMEA festivals and multiple students made county and state honor ensembles, such as FMCMEA Honor Band, All-State Concert Band, and the All-State JHS Jazz Ensemble. During the past three years, he has also been a marching band field tech at Clovis West High School and Selma High School.

 

Mr. Paim graduated from Tulare Union High School in Tulare, CA in 2009 and received his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Fresno State in 2015. While at Fresno State, Mr. Paim was a member of the Wind Orchestra, Jazz Orchestra, Bulldog Beat, and Fresno State Marching Band. He then obtained his Master of Music degree from the American Band College in 2020.

 

During his teaching career in Central California, Mr. Paim served as the Jazz Representative for the Fresno Madera Counties Music Educators Association and played saxophone regularly with the Fresno Community Band and Paul Kasparian Jazz Band.

 

Mr. Paim currently resides in Chico, CA with his wife, Michelle Wogan, and his adorable German Shepherd, Sammy.
